Pie for lunch

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

I have made my first pie ever – and it was actually quite successful. I have always thought making pie was very timeconsuming, and at the same time, it doesn’t always taste that much anyway… But this pie was ready to eat in about 45 minutes, and with broccoli, feta, bacon and garlic as main ingredients, it definitely became a tasty lunch! I feel all “housewifey” now. Any suggestions for next steps on the way to housewifeyness?

It was Andreas Viestad that inspired me to try out the pie for lunch :)

“Facebook” for Norwegian doctors

Legeforeningen. Min side. My Page. The Norwegian Medical Association.

The Norwegian Medical Association (Den norske legeforening) launched an extranet for all the doctors in Norway recently called ‘Min side’ (My page). The solution is a personalized site where the doctors can…

  • get access to information regarding their membership in the association
  • get information about rules and regulations regarding their work situation
  • get updated news within their field from different sources
  • maintain their own profile
  • discuss professional issues with each other

My company, Logica, has worked together with the Norwegian Medical Association for quite some time to develop this solution. I have been involved in the project as an interaction designer/information architect – and it has been a very interesting and fun project to be a part of.

The concept and the solution in itself has already been tested by a bunch of doctors from different fields through an interactive prototype. But the real test of a community happens when the real users enter. On Monday the association will send out usernames and passwords to all their members, and I am excited to follow the activity in the community the coming months.

At Rygge Airport

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

My parents and I are stuck at Rygge Airport after a weekend in Bergen because the battery of my dad’s car is flat. A guy is fixing it right now though. Apart from this, and apart from the fact that I have got the flu, the weekend has been perfect. My cousin Erik and lovely Ingse are now husband and wife:

This is the very first wedding I have attended, and it was just wonderful to celebrate their big day with them, family and friends – in sunny Bergen.

I enjoyed the evening in a beautiful dress I borrowed from a friend. (Thank you so much, Randi!) It is just typical that when I was willing to spend some money on a nice outfit, I found absolutely nothing I wanted in the stores. Next time I will try out eBay (like I mentioned earlier) even though I find it scary to buy clothes without trying them on.

My mom bought a nice orange dress for this occasion that I might borrow in the future. Here we both are in the restroom before the wedding dinner:

Lovely new iPhone that keeps me busy when in cold airport garage waiting for car to be fixed to the bottom right. Yay!

UX Office

Tea time with my colleagues. The weather outside is awful, but inside the office walls we enjoy a nice, short break from our work. Got to get back to analysing the exciting world of pollution(!) any minute now, though.

Fall is here

…and I am ready for it now that I just received these beautiful wrist worms from a nice and talented girl in Gothenburg. Thank you, Sandra!

When I am not buying worms made of yarn

  • I work and learn interesting things about life
  • I listen to the radio (a new passion of mine) to learn interesting things about the world
  • I go quizzing to make use of all the less interesting things I know
  • I dance/cook/stare into thin air to clear my mind completely
